Day 01: Welcome to Nepal
Arrival in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be transferred to your hotel; in the evening, we will have a group meeting and a two hour briefing for the tour. Overnight stay in hotel. We would suggest you take a flight which arrives early in the morning in Kathmandu to allow enough time to rest.
Day 02: Half day Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley
Early in the morning we will perform Rudrabhishek at Pashupatinath Temple. After lunch, we can proceed for a sightseeing tour of Budha Nilakantha and Swayambhunath. In the evening, you are free for shopping.
Day 03: From Kathmandu to Dhulikhel
After Lunch we drive to the hill station of Dhulikhel for Mountain View. It will gives you the glimpse of country side of Nepal and acclimatization. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 04: From Dhulikhel to Naylam
Dhulikhel-Kodari to Zhangmu to Nyalam (3700m / 12,142 ft). Travel time: 7 to 8 hours. After breakfast we depart for the Tibet border at Kodari. After lunch at Kodari, we will clear Nepali customs/immigration. It is a 15 minute walk across the Friendship Bridge to Tibet, where the Chinese border police will check passports and visas. Walk to our allocated Land Cruisers (4 Yatris plus a driver and possibly one staff per vehicle). The Land Cruiser will only have room for your personal backpack.
All the other bags (duffle bag will be provided by us) will be transported by trucks that will accompany us throughout the trip. From Zhangmu to Nyalam it is a pleasant 3 to 4 hour scenic drive. Stay overnight at a guesthouse in Nyalam
Once we reach at our destination, we will offload all your bags and deliver to your room. Sometimes rooms may need to accommodate 4 to 5 people. Bedding is provided by the hotel/guesthouse. Where available, electricity is irregular and can go off at any time. Candles are provided in the rooms, but it is best to have your flashlight available.
Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Nyalam
Acclimatization day in Nyalam: After breakfast, a small walk through Nyalam village to visit the monastery and a 2-hour trek for acclimatization. Stay overnight at the same guesthouse.
Day 06: Drive to New Dongba (290 kms.)
Drive Nyalam to Dongba (4600m / 14,409 ft) 490 kms. Travel time: 8-9 hours. Enjoy the view of snowcapped mountains as we pass through the first high pass of Lalung La Pass (5000m). We will also be crossing the holy river Brahmaputra. Stay overnight at a hotel in New Dongba.(4500mt)
Day 07: Drive to Lake Manasarovar
After breakfast, we continue the drive to Mansarovar (4750m / 14,180 ft) on the way you will cross Mayumla pass 5100m. Travel time: 8- 9 hours.
The day’s drive is very long. This is a most auspicious day for everyone, as some of you might have waited for so long, maybe even life times, to get your first glimpse of Holy Mt. Kailash and sacred Lake Mansarovar.
Enjoy the vast Tibetan Plato, where the landscape changes from sandy dunes to rocky vistas, to savannah. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.(4660mt)
Day 08: The experience of being in the abode of God -Haven Worship/rest/acclimatization at Lake Mansarovar. Experience being in the abode of God, it is a lifetime achievement: Puja, Havan-Worship, Meditation, Holy bath, Tarpan etc. Here relax and explore around the Lake Mansarovar. Stay overnight at the same guesthouse.
Day 09: Drive to Darchen and hike to Derapuk
Drive Darchen 45 km and then to Tarboche (7 km) and trek to Derapuk (12 km) - First day of Parikrama. Trekking time: 6 to 7 hours, and a drive of about 13 km. to Tarboche. For those Yatriks who are not joining for the Parikrama, they can do a small Parikrama about 100 mt. of Tarboche flag, which is also considered as a Parikrama of Holy Mount Kailash. Then an additional two kilometers by coach and we begin the Yatra on foot or horse/yak back. The trail has a few ups and downs till Diraphuk. Be blessed by seeing the magnificent view of north face, of holy mountain Mt. Kailash. Stay overnight in guesthouse/camp. (4660mt)
Day 10: Derapuk - Dolma - la Pass - Zuthulpuk
Early morning we start about 7am for our second day of the Parikrama we trek 15 km from Diraphuk to Dolmala Pass (5650m / 18,532ft) to Zhutulpuk Valley (4760m / 15,613ft). Trekking time: 9 to 10 hours. This is the toughest day of the Yatra. To Dolmala Pass, it is a 6 kilometers uphill trek. If you would like pray and perform puja for 10 to 15 minutes at the pass. Soon after Dolmala Pass is Gaurikund. From here you will start descending for another 6 kilometers. The trail is very slippery and you have to move carefully, from rock to rock. Please use your walking stick. A final steep descent brings you to the valley floor. An additional 3 kilometers of gradual walk and you arrive at Guesthouse. Stay overnight at camp/Guesthouse.(4650mt)
Day 11: Zuthulpuk - Darchen - Horr Chu
Third day of the Parikrama. Trek from Zhutulpuk to the end of the Parikrama. Drive to Manasarovar (Horr Chu). Trekking time: 3 to 4 hours. It is a very pleasant walk and the trail is very beautiful. There are many caves; Mani Stones and birds can be seen. This is a Valley of Enlightenment as a belief. (4900mt)
Our vehicle will be waiting near to Darchen where our Parikrama ends. For those who does not go for Inner parikrama we stay in Darchen and for other member Half an hour rest here and then we will drive to Lake Mansarovar for our final holy bath and puja. Overnight stay in Manas.
Day 12: Drive back to Nyalam
Drive to Nyalam, this will be a very long drive from Manas, Please make sure you have some snacks in your car, just incase. We will stop near Bramaputra river for lunch and drive to Nyalam. Hotel in Nyalam.
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu
Nyalam to Kathmandu, we start early in the morning. We will leave our Tibetan Land Cruiser here and walk across the Friendship Bridge. After completing immigration formalities at Kodari, our coach will be waiting and will drive us back to Kathmandu. Evening we will take you for culture show and dinner.
Day 14: Transfer to the Airport
We will come to drop you to the Airport and final departure with wonderful memories.
